Now that we are entering 2024 an new year with new possibilites I take some time to recap the year that passed. Last year started with the first release of my game Tales of a Vagrant, quickly I realised that the format didn’t work well. I started planning and rebuild the game to make it better and fit the vision have I have. This quick rebuild that I had in my head quickly became a larger project than I thought.

Switching from a third person view to a topdown camera to simply the controls as well as making some of the level design work better. During the year I learned more on gamedesign och leveldesign which meant that I have reworked parts of the game a bit too much but in the end I think the game is progressing into something much better now. From there the game becamee this topdown/sidescrolling action game. The concept is very influenced by an 90s game called Golden Axe and TMNT: Shredders Revenge. I have a soft spot for that kind of sidescrolling beat ‘em up games. So I started working and if you look at the video below you see where the progress was in march after a lots of rework.

The rest of spring and summer I spent on fleshing out the levels and working on the core gameplay. I also started to test it more on different devices and do som initial performance tests. During the autum I have continued to work on the level and polishing everything. Now that the 2023 is over I have added more features, polished many effects and made the game more complete.
